Every ranger leaves a mark — a notch in the bark, a bent branch, a trail only the trained eye can follow. It isn't showing off. It's so the next person through knows someone made it this far. This bar carries that same quiet skill: raw pine tar and deep resin, for people who know the way.

The scent

Pine tar is unlike anything else in the range and unlike almost anything else in soap generally. It's smoky, resinous, and campfire-adjacent — closer to woodsmoke and creosote than to a pine air freshener. People who like it tend to love it.

  • Opens with — smoky pine tar, raw and resinous
  • Settles into — deep woody base notes
  • Finishes — rustic and dry, like a fire that's burned down

Who it's for

Pine tar soap has a long history with outdoor workers, hunters, and anyone with hardworking skin — it's been a staple for well over a century. This is the bar for people who find most soap too perfumed and want something that smells like actual work. It's also popular with hunters, who value that it doesn't leave a floral scent behind.

What's in it, and why

  • Coconut oil — the lather. It's what gives the bar its thick, fast bubbles.
  • Olive oil — the gentleness. A classic conditioning oil that keeps the bar mild.
  • Mango seed butter — the creaminess. Adds body to the lather and a softer feel on the skin.
  • Avocado oil — rich and conditioning, long used in bars meant for dry or tired skin.
  • Castor oil — the bubble stabilizer. A small amount makes the lather last instead of collapsing.
  • Jojoba oil — closest in structure to skin's own oils, which is part of why the bar feels easy rather than stripping.
  • Yogurt — our signature addition, and the reason the lather has a creamy, almost silky quality that plain soap doesn't.
  • Tocopherol (Vitamin E) — a natural antioxidant that helps keep the oils fresh.

Making it last

Handmade soap is softer than the mass-produced bars you'd find in a supermarket, which is exactly why it feels better on your skin — and exactly why it dissolves if you leave it sitting in water. Keep it on a draining dish or in a sisal pouch between showers and let it dry out fully.
