Dragon's Maw - Island Volcano w/ Sea Salt Scrub

Legend tells of a hoard guarded by fire and salt-crusted scale — a beast that slept on gold with the sea at its back for a thousand years. Bright citrus gives way to sugared orange and a deep musk-vanilla ember, the scent of a dragon's breath cooling over treasure. The sea salt worked through the bar is the part of the story you can actually feel.

The scent

This one moves. It hits bright and tropical, turns sweet and syrupy in the middle, then settles into something warm and smoky that lingers on the skin long after you're out of the shower. It's one of our boldest scents and one of the few that people can identify on someone else across a room.

A note on the salt

Salt bars behave differently from regular soap. The lather is creamier and denser rather than bubbly, and the bar itself is harder — which means it lasts longer than most. The scrub is firm enough that we'd steer you away from using it on your face if your skin is sensitive. On the rest of you, it's excellent.

What's in it, and why

• Coconut oil — the lather. Essential in a salt bar, since salt suppresses bubbles.
• Olive oil — the gentleness, balancing out the scrub.
• Mango seed butter — the creaminess that keeps a salt bar from feeling harsh.
• Avocado oil — rich and conditioning.
• Castor oil — stabilizes what lather there is so it doesn't collapse.
• Jojoba oil — closest in structure to skin's own oils.
• Yogurt — our signature addition, for a creamier, silkier lather.
• Tocopherol (Vitamin E) — keeps the oils fresh.

Making it last

Salt bars already last longer than most, but the same rule applies: keep it on a draining dish or in a sisal pouch and let it dry fully between uses. Standing water is the only thing that will finish this bar early.
