Scarlet Mystery - Black Cherry & Sandalwood

Ruby slid into the backseat at midnight, all cherry and roses, and by the time the city lights faded she was gone — leaving nothing but warmth and the ghost of something you can't name. Some scents tell you exactly what they are. This one doesn't.

The scent

Scarlet Mystery is the most complex bar we make, and the one that rewards paying attention. It arrives as fruit, turns floral in the middle, and dries down warm and woody — three distinct acts rather than one note held for an hour. If you're used to soap that smells like one thing, this will be a different experience.

Who it's for

Anyone who likes layered fragrance and finds most soap one-dimensional. It's a favorite among people who wear real perfume, and it's one of our consistent best sellers. It leans slightly feminine but wears well on anyone — the woody base keeps it from being sweet.

The collaboration

Made with @dimlitfilms, an independent film outfit whose work has the same after-midnight quality this scent was built around. A portion of every bar sold goes directly toward funding their next project. Buying this bar puts money into independent film — that's not a marketing line, it's where the money goes.

What's in it, and why

• Coconut oil — the lather. It's what gives the bar its thick, fast bubbles.
• Olive oil — the gentleness. A classic conditioning oil that keeps the bar mild.
• Mango seed butter — the creaminess. Adds body to the lather and a softer feel on the skin.
• Avocado oil — rich and conditioning, long used in bars meant for dry or tired skin.
• Castor oil — the bubble stabilizer. A small amount makes the lather last instead of collapsing.
• Jojoba oil — closest in structure to skin's own oils.
• Yogurt — our signature addition, for a creamier, silkier lather.
• Tocopherol (Vitamin E) — a natural antioxidant that helps keep the oils fresh.

Making it last

Keep it on a draining dish or in a sisal pouch between showers and let it dry out fully. Handmade soap left sitting in water disappears fast — kept dry, it lasts a good long while.
